+ HEART OF THE ROSE +

Today I'm going to share a technique to strengthen our mind. I learnt about this from the book The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma. I haven't finish yet reading this book, maybe later I'll write my review on the book in the next post. The requirements for this technique are a fresh rose and a silent place. Natural surroundings are the best but a quiet room would also be nice.

Question : WHY A ROSE?

Answer : A rose is very much like life : we always meet thorns along the way. If we have faith and believe in our dreams, we will eventually move beyond the thorns into the glory of the flower.

My own review : The rose is just a symbolism with our own life. You can use other things which can relate to  your own life, as long as you follow the methods correctly. However, using natural objects are the best.

Now lets learn about the method:

  1. Start to stare at the centre of the rose, which is its heart. Notice its colour, texture and design. Savour its fragrance and think only about this wonderful object in front of you.
  2. It will be hard at first. You will found out that other thoughts will start entering your mind and distract you from the heart of the rose (in my case I keep on moving my head and look at other things, haha). This is the mark of untrained mind. Improvement will come quickly, but you must keep your attention to the object of your focus. Soon your mind will grow strong and disciplined.
  3. The ritual need to be performed daily for it to be effective. After a week or two, you should be able to do it for 20 minutes without wandering onto other subjects. This is the first indication that you are taking back control of the fortress of your mind.
  4. When you already get used with the technique, you will notice that you will feel far calmer. Worrying habits that plagues inside yourself will be erased. You will enjoy more energy and optimism. The most important thing is you will also observe a sense of joyfulness entering your life along with an ability to appreciate the gifts that surround you.

Lessons :

  1. Either you control your mind or it controls you.
  2. Never forget that there is power in silence and stillness. Stillness is the stepping stone to connecting with the universal source of intelligence that throbs through every living thing.

+ GCAP 01+

Just as I promised yesterday, here is the post about my 5 weeks undergo the Graduate Career Accelerated Programme (GCAP). I don't know why they put 01 at the back as we were the 2nd batch of this programme. At first, I thought this programme is just for unemployed graduates like me or in other word "penganggur". After a week, all those negative thoughts gone. I had so much fun, although some parts very challenging and stressful. Here we learnt some valuable knowledge:

  1.  English Language ~ We focus on the usage of English Language in daily life and for interview and working purposes rather than just learn the grammar and theoretical part only.
  2. Values for Driven Professional ~ We get to know our own personality, how people behaviour and how to deal with other people from different group of personality.
  3. Organisational Adaptability ~ Most of the time we work in a group, thus contribute to our teamwork spirit
  4. Creative and Critical Thinking ~ As the name said, this class was very critical. My brain has been stretch to the maximum level especially when preparing for the presentation. Really test my ability and patience, hehehe
  5. Grooming class ~ The most leisure class ever. The girls were very excited during the grooming session, haha.

Photo time~

 * The participants. Nice to know all of you (although I never knew most of them) *

 * Forced to do the scrub. My first time though. The boys even became radiant after that, haha *

*Victory for No Discount. Yeah! *

 * Butterfly siblings with different personalities*

* One of the "night class" activity *

* Keep on those smiles no matter how tired you are *

After 5 weeks, I have become someone who more outspoken, more confident and I know I can do better in most of my daily task. I met new friends who are unique and have their own strength which drive my competitive spirit rise to the maximum level. Nice knowing all of you and I hope everyone will gain success in the future A.S.A.P. Thank you for all the trainers for sharing those priceless knowledge. You guys are the best :)

+ 26th +

Wow2!!! It has been a while I stop writing. No inspiration I guess. Life has been a bit boring these few months (perhaps years) and no stories to share. Emm... 6 months pass after I graduated and yet I haven't get employed. Went for a few interview but still no luck. Oh well, no need to stress myself. I'll get a job when the right time comes. So far I spend 6 months at home. No regret, as I spend in about 13 years away from home, studying. At least I can see my parents face and rest my mind and body. I just finished 5 weeks of training (SL1M). Later I'll write more about it.

Now let's get into the real story ;). Well... I have been 26 years old yesterday (20th Feb 2013). So much has change after I look back into the past. There are a few targets which I cannot fulfil during last year. I will work harder to achieve those targets, heheh. I celebrated my birthday with some friends from my SL1M programme. Just a simple celebration in Midvalley. Makan2 and chit chat. Simple but one of a very meaningful moment in 2013. A big THANK YOU for you guys. I really appreciate it.
